Special Curriculum Programs

Starting in January 2018, we are incorporating a NEW science program into our curriculum called Hightouch Hightech! This is a preschool program guide where scientists come to our school for a 30 minute hands-on fun learning experience.

The program is to continue to nurture budding young minds with a program designed for the preschool children ages 3 to 5. The 1st Wednesday of each month is when they will make a visit.


Infant and Young Toddlers

Tadpoles, allows teachers to send photos and a daily report for each child. It will keep you informed about daily activities, learning experiences, and care events for the child’s day. Tadpoles will continue to strengthen our home to school connection.

From your tadpoles parent account, via the app or web, you will be able to enter in morning drop off notes for your child’s teachers, and any other additional information. Each classroom is equipped with an Ipad that will be specifically used for Tadpoles.

All information captured within Tadpoles is private communication between our school and families. The confidentiality is maintained through the secure features of the Tadpoles software.

Class Sizes and Ratios

In order to maintain a safe and quality experience for each child in our program River Hills Early Childhood Center keeps the following minimum ratios and class sizes within our classrooms:

Infants - 1 to 4 ratio with a maximum room size of 9

Toddlers  - 1 to 7 ratio with a maximum room size of 14

Preschool - 1 to 10 with a maximum room size of 18

Traditional Preschool - 1 to 10 with a maximum room size of 20

PK - 1 to 10 with a maximum room size of 20

School-age (Seasonal) - 1 to 15 with a maximum room size of 20

In addition, our classrooms have additional teachers/staff at times to allow a strong educational curriculum to be carried out above and beyond basic needs of the children.
